A Stylish Rendezvous

Hey Lovelies! Okay so before you start reading, we’re warning you that this is going to be a super long post!! So brace yourself!  So you all know that we had the “Styledrive’s most fashionable follower contest* the winner of which we announced a while back! Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who sent in their pictures for the contest!! And secondly we’d like to congratulate Masoom, the winner!! Now we wanted to do a shoot with our winner and it was possible only because masoom lives in the same city as us and so we planned the shoot over a period of  5 days and then shot! We have a good mix of trends in this shoot(we didnt plan that). And hence this post is the longest ever because we had to write about each and every trend seen!! Enjoy the post and thank you so much for your lovely feedback on the Spring Thrills post!! Now, get reading!

P.S :- 3 Girls + Beautiful location + Amazing photographer + trendy outfits = A LOT of pictures!!

We hope you like the pictures!!

Top- Topshop, Shorts- Forever21, Blazer- Zara, Shoes- Zara, Stocking- Gypsy(online), Heart ring- Aldo Accessories, Multi stone ring- Forever21, Necklace- Local, Blue Satchel- Preciosa

I wore this outfit keeping the print on print trend in mind! This was my first hand at it and so i played safe with colours because i chose prints that were quite contradictory anyway. To tone it down i added some black shorts and a pale pink blazer.Layering your printed outfit with neutral colours is a good mix.To add a pop of colour i added my favourite bag for the moment( Satchels are a huge rage this season!!!) and some hot pink nailpolish and a pink lip colour.

Trend Alert!

Print on Print

Wearing print on print takes some time to master and to get used to, and if you’re a first timer– just stick to prints that are from the same wedge of the color wheel.Print mixing is one of the more difficult trends to pull off. But when done right, mixed prints can look wildly high-fashion, and breathe some new life into your tired clothes.Don’t over do prints in different colours, there’s a fine line between looking edgy and totally wacked out.  So, how do you mix patterns without looking like you were getting ready while half in the bag or in the dark?

Try this!

*Don’t shy away from accessories of various prints. Pair printed stockings with a printed top and then tone it down with the help of neutral hues to bring out with best of both prints.
* Pair floral skirts or leggings  with stripes.
* Layer plaids over each other.
* Top a simple polka dot shirt with a boldly printed skirt or pant.
* Animal print is the most difficult and make sure you don’t over do it.

cropped pants- trunk, Top- forever21, tube- Calvin klein , Shoes-Pixels , ring and bracelet-H&m , necklace-Forever21

Our gorgeous winner chose to wear  cropped pants and paired it with a top that ends just before the pants start. This gives it a very interesting look and works for her body and the plaid top makes it look trendy too. She added some matching jewellery and  heels to finish the look!!

Cropped pants is one the most interesting trend you’re going to be seeing everywhere this spring/summer. Cropped pants are any pants that are hemmed anywhere upto 3 cms above your ankles. If you’re not a trouser/pants person then cropped jeans is also a good way of wearing this trend.

How to Wear Cropped Pants

One of the best things about cropped pants is that they can be dressed up or down. If you have a black pair of cropped trousers, you can wear them to work with classic pumps, or out for a fun date night with strappy sandals. Dress them down with ankle boots or simple wedge sandals for daytime. This is one of those trends that’s so versatile – one piece can be worn many ways and for many different occasions!

Wear them with heels:- Wear Cropped pants with heels as the length of the pants puts your footwear front and center. Cropped pants can also shorten your legs, so heels will help counteract this. Throw on your favorite pair of peep toes or strappy heels and strut your stuff!

Choose neutral colors:- These pants look best in black, grey, and the occasional white or off-white. Black is the most forgiving and will go with the most items in your closet, so if you’re in doubt, it’s the shade to pick

* create your own pair:- If you have a pair of super-skinny jeans that you want to convert into cropped pants, hem them yourself if you’re crafty, or simply cuff them and roll them up.
